With only a few days to go, things are hotting up ahead of the Hartpury Summer Showjumping Spectacular, which starts on Friday.
Sandwiched between their other two big events, the Festival of Dressage and the NAF Five Star International Hartpury Horse Trials, the event will run classes from 85cm up to a 1.50m Area Trial.
Entry is free for spectators.
International course designer Paul Connor is again putting the course in the International Arena together, and the Hartpury Arena is course designer Ben Townley.
Paul said: “Last year was the first year of the show, and this year it continues with the Young Horse theme and also includes an Area Trial to add to the 1.40m series.
“I’m looking forward to watching the young horses, especially after last year’s entrants.”
A number of local names will make their way to the Hartpury International Arena including young rider Joseph Fernyhough of Calcourt Equestrian, international showjumper Johnathan Bowman, competition horse producer Bex Mason, regular Hartpury coach Emma Slater, four-star event rider Nick Gauntlett and Summerhouse Equestrian proprietor Rachel Gallop, to name but a few.
A host of horses from the well-known Billy Stud are also confirmed.
Current Hartpury students and graduates are also entered over the weekend, including Ella Nutbeen Slowley, Elizabeth Whittle, Georgia Cabb, Kayleigh Ryan, Holly Coles, Rebecca Sim, Madison Penfound and Sophie Hulme, as well as Katinka Brogaard, Rebecca Daniel and Tayla Drew.
Hartpury Equine Director Phillip Cheetham said: “Entry numbers are up on last year, meaning this year’s event is set to be bigger and better than ever.
“In our second year, we are really grateful that riders are giving us so much support and we can’t wait to see the event develop further.
“Our young horse classes are proving very popular and we are looking forward to welcoming young stars of the future.
“We’d like to thank sponsors NAF, Baileys Horse Feeds, Breeders Elite, Just poles And Showjumps, Payrolls UK, Shaw Farm Stud, Kempley Catering, Three Choirs Vineyards, Jeanette Edwards and Voltaire Design.”
